SON OF MAN, CAN THESE BONES LIVE?

“…So popular and still less understood these verses(Ezekiel 37:1-14); so, we will look deeply into them so to understand the heart of the Father wrapped therein.

There – in and by the Spirit – Ezekiel stood in the midst of a valley, filled with dried bones. Then, the LORD asked him:

‘ And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live?

And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.’(Ezekiel 37:3 KJV)

Well, physically…apparently, it was IMPOSSIBLE. It’s such an idiosyncratic idea unto the scientific and finite mind. However, it isn’t so with God: for what’s impossible with man, is POSSIBLE with God(Mark 10:27). Alleluia! This should be the Anchor of our hope always. No matter the hopeless situation at hand, there’s still HOPE, for there’s still a God Who’s still on the throne. Those ‘dry ones’ could represent what’s impossible to be resolved by man, it could stand for anything in your life that looks ‘hopeless’. However, don’t panic for the LORD has spoken deliverance upon Mount Zion(Obadiah 1:17). Let’s continue.

Verse 4(KJV) says:

‘Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them,

O ye dry bones, hear[listen to] the word of the Lord.’

This is real food for the spirit: get ready to digest the delicious meal the LORD has set before you, in the presence of your enemies this day! Re-read the previous verse again…and carefully, and you’ll SEE! God said, ’PROPHESY unto these bones…’

What did Ezekiel have to ‘prophesy’ unto those bones?

Verses 4b-6 answer the question:

‘…HEAR the WORD of the Lord and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the WORD of the Lord.

5 Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.’

Now, can you see that Ezekiel didn’t have to speak his words, but GOD’s Words. The Word(s) of God bear within them ALL they say and need to ‘BE’. So, Ezekiel spoke those same words as the LORD said unto him(or, better still, he ‘prophesied’), that the bones may live again. And what happened?

Verses 7-8(KJV) say,

‘So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.’

Glory to God! I want you to pay a closer attention to the part where it said:’…AS I[Ezekiel] SPOKE…’

Why? Because, as Ezekiel SPOKE, the bones came together and attached themselves together as complete skeletons…then as he WATCHED, muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies, alleluia! All this happened as Ezekiel spoke, not BEFORE nor AFTER. What does that mean? It affirms the Being of the Word: ALIVE, QUICK and POWERFUL. Yes, for the Words of God are Spirit and they’re Life. Once they’re uttered, from a heart of faith and through the lips of faith, they ARE, alleluia! So, once the word of the LORD proceeded from Ezekiel’s lips, they ARE, glory to God. So, as Ezekiel was speaking, the Word was ‘being’, hmm…what awesome and amazing mystery!

So, what does that mean? It means that when we proclaim the Word over our lives…in a certain situation, it comes into ‘BEING’ in the NOW, not AFTER. As you SPEAK forth the Word, there’s Something supernatural happening in the NOW; you’re exercising Creative Force in that situation: oh, you’re applying the ‘Let-there-be-light-and-there-was-light’ power, according to your divine nature in Christ.(Take note: Ezekiel neither ADDED to nor SUBTRACTED from what God said…he spoke as he was told. So, the Word became ‘flesh’: for the Word of God to ‘BE’ in your life, speak It as it IS(as God has SPOKEN it)).

Now, you’ll be wondering:

‘why didn’t all this take place when God spoke it?’

Well, it’ll interest you to know, or better still recall, what Psalm 115:16 says,

‘The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’S:

But the earth hath he given to the children of men.’

Oh, yes! When God made man, in His image and after His likeness, He gave man charge over the earth and all creation, to reign over and govern it. So, how does man basically exercise his God-given authority upon this earth…if not through his words: not any word, but God’s words spoken through him, for through His Word ALL things were created(yes, for the power of every word is determined by its Source).

So, when God commanded Ezekiel to speak His Words unto the dry bones, He wanted him to realize the authority He’s placed within him. So, in order for the dry bones to become living peoples again, God needed a man who will speak forth His Word. Oh, God’s Word bears Life in Itself and, thus, it can bring back to life whatsoever that’s dead, for through the Word…all things are and were created.

Thus: man can solely exercise authentic authority upon this earth, through the Word of God spoken through him.

No wonder, the LORD said in Numbers 14:28(NLT):

’… ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord,

I will do to you the very things I heard you say.’

Let’s ride on: good, these bones became bodies by the Word of the LORD, spoken through Ezekiel, however they had NO life: they laid there DEAD, in the valley. What a situation! Let’s see what then happened: verses 9-10(KJV) say,

‘Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.’

Oh, alleluia! Once again, the Word of the LORD came unto Ezekiel and he PROPHESIED as he was told, and BREATH came into the dead bodies, alleluia!

What does the Breath mean? The Breath is the Holy Spirit; He’s the Spirit of Life(Romans 8:11). Whatever that’s alive indeed, has the Breath[Holy Spirit]. We, the children of God, know that we are ALIVE for the Spirit of the LORD dwells in us…born of God(Romans 8:10, John 3:6)!

When God made man, He breathed the breath of life into his nostrils and he became a LIVING soul(Genesis 2:7). No breath, no life! So- there in the valley- the Breath came and breathed into the dead bodies and they ALL came to life again, glory to God!

More so, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Creation: when God said, for instance,’…let there be light’ and there was light(Genesis1:3), the Holy Spirit was the Creative Force at work in the Word of God, that brought into ‘BEING’ what was said.

The latter part of Ezekiel 37:10 says,

‘…and they STOOD on their feet – a great army’.

Image

Oh, that which was a valley filled with dry bones was transformed supernaturally – by the Living Word of the LORD – into a great army, alleluia! Yes, the Breath of God brought Life unto those dead bodies…and they STOOD on their feet!

Hear this: have you ever seen a dead man on his feet? He ever lies motionless on the ground…in his ‘grave’. Only a man that’s ‘ALIVE’, can stand on his feet. Why? For two good reasons:

Firstly, because a living man CAN stand for his senses are alive and, secondly, because(given the first reason), when he stands up, he KNOWS he’s standing.

What’s the point here? Only the man, filled by the Spirit of the LORD, can stand on his feet. Why? Let’s see Ezekiel 2:1-2(KJV): it says:

‘And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.

2 AND THE SPIRIT ENTERED INTO ME when he spake unto me, and SET ME UPON MY FEET, that I heard him that spake unto me.’

So, the Holy Spirit doesn’t solely enable us but His enablement births awareness within us. Yes, that was why it was ONLY when the dead bodies received life, they STOOD on their feet.

Glory to God! We’ve received the Spirit of Life, so we’re set on our FEET(Ephesians 6:13).

Finally, when Ezekiel was done with ‘the Valley Experience’, the LORD God gave him the Word of Solution…a Word of Prophecy for His people, Israel. Verses 11-13(KJV):

‘ Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

13 And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves.’

It’s beautiful to observe that the above verses are ‘populated’ with ‘I…I…I’(it stands for the LORD God):so, it represents ‘WHO’ and not ‘HOW’. Amazing! So, let’s not worry about ‘HOW’ God’s Word will manifest in our hopeless situations, rather…let’s confide in the ‘WHO’ that has spoken: GOD. Why? Because the LORD said in Jeremiah 1:12b,

‘…for I will hasten my word to perform it.’

Oh, dear one in Christ, FAITHFUL is Him that has promised for His words can NEVER return to Him void…unfulfilled, they must do all they SAY(Isaiah 55:11). Alleluia!

Verse 14(KJV) says:

‘ And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it, saith the Lord.’

When the spirit of the LORD dwells and rests upon a person, such awareness comes to BE, such understanding is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of the LORD and Wisdom is given to follow the right Path ever.

So, here is it: we’ve seen the power of the Word of God: yes, the Written Prophecy!

This is your season of Prophecy: open your mouth – in faith – and DECLARE the Word of the LORD. Yes, has the LORD said it?

Then BELIEVE it, CONFESS it…and, oh, TRUMPET it forth! And, lo, you’ll see the Word manifest in your life for it’s Alive, Quick and Powerful(Hebrews 4:12); Eternal and Faithful!

“I so believe this Message and I’m confident in the LORD Who’s given this Word for if you’ll obey it, you’ll come out with testimonies this week. It Is Well…Greater things await you in Jesus’ name, amen.”
