Greetings in Christ to you dear Daughter of Zion! Today, we will look briefly into an interesting topic: VIRGINITY.
So, why should you preserve yourself?
Because your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit: He’s holy and, thus, He can only dwell in a holy tabernacle. So, if you so much love the active indwelling and presence of the Holy spirit in you, KEEP YOURSELF PURE: in fact, the fear of the LORD in you will cause you to do so(that’s Wisdom).
The commonest definition of VIRGINITY is: a person who has not experienced sexual intercourse; chaste; undefiled. However, Virginity means beyond that. How(you may ask)?
You see, Virginity is of the Heart, as said in the beginning. Jesus, speaking, said in Matthew 5:28(NASB):
‘but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.’
Why? Because Matthew 15:19(NIV) says,
‘For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, SEXUAL IMMORALITY, theft, false testimony, slander.’(emphasis added)
More so, Virginity depicts Purity: this latter affects not only one’s spirit and soul but even one’s body. Why? Because Chastity brings about Purity. Here is it: if your heart’s pure, circumcised by the Holy Spirit, you’ll surely conceive godly thoughts and, thus, you’ll act uprightly…whereas, if you leave your mind ‘exposed negatively’, and give room to dirty imaginations, you’ll find out that such will surely influence your manners….your actions(and that’s what births promiscuity…premarital sex). So, the best antidote against sexual immorality is yielding one’s entire being[spirit, soul and body] to the Holy Spirit, so that He may ever purge and purify you entirely(Galatians 5:16) and allowing the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom(Colossians 3:16).
The point I‘m trying to draw out is: your thoughts beget your actions. Why? Because as a person thinks, so he/she IS(Proverbs 23:7a) and James 1:15(NIV) says,
‘ Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.’
It’s what you’ve think of… thoroughly think of that influences your way of being.
Thus, the question of Virginity should be seen beyond one’s ‘preservation’, but the reason of such: that is, the thought that prompts one to keep oneself: for when you’re PURE within(in your heart), it will surely affect you outwardly(your body).
Dear daughter of Zion, let this be your Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I yield myself to you SPIRIT, SOUL and BODY , that I’ll be PURE indeed in ALL I say, see, hear, think and do in Jesus’ name, amen.
