Hello Beloved in Christ,

2016 is rolling out soonest to give way to a new earthly season, 2017. With such impression on my heart, I’d to share what the LORD’s been laying on my heart most recently to the Body of Christ.
The theme of #revival has been greatly resounded year after year…each year is declared the set time of such mighty move of God. Many words…little or no manifestation. As I fellowshipped with the LORD early hours of this day, He placed a strong chastening word on my heart from Matthew 6:19-21:
“19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

We’ve read those sacred verses repeatedly in our gatherings, I guess. However, if the spirit of those words entered us our perspective of God will certainly change.
Let’s dig down to the reason we cry out for revival…let’s check the very intents of our heart by the eye of the Holy Spirit. Are we crying out to God for revival…for the anointing…for financial breakthrough for selfish/carnal reasons? Let’s be truthful to ourselves, for it will define how the coming year shall be for us. We have cried out to the LORD long enough for godly requests, yet with unholy motives! Hence, God cannot move over such prayers. What is truly our heartbeat for God sending the spirit of revival into our nations? That we will be “mini-gods”, sought after by men? That we would be at the centre of attention? If these and more have been our reasons, let me announce to us Church that we have gallantly failed! Yes, for if ever God would answer those carnal requests the revival that will be birthed won’t survive the test of time, as the fore-bearers have earth-bound motives…laying up treasures on earth, where rust and moth can corrupt and thieves can breakthrough and steal! Yes, too carnally-driven, that our reasons are not in sync with the heartbeat of the Father.

If we remain earth-bound and carnally-minded in our approach to the kingdom of God, we cannot set our gaze on the things above. We result “numb” to the very reality that hereafter lies heaven and hell. Therefore, our work in the Kingdom of God is weak and ineffective. The reason we should cry out for revival is because the eternal judgement of God is fast approaching and God doesn’t want mankind to partake of the eternal suffering prepared for the devil and his demons. That is why the Gospel should be preached, with signs and wonders following: awakening eternity in the heart of men.

We’ve chased enough spiritual vanities, let’s now set our gaze on Jesus Christ and lay up treasures in heaven…let’s set our affection on the kingdom of God and His righteousness. That’s the only guarantee that our work rendered here on earth would pass the trying fire of God when we shall stand before His throne on that day. Let the reason for which we ask for revival be because we recognise the love of God for mankind to deliver him from eternal damnation and separation, both on earth and hereafter. That is the kind of revival that draws men to the point of absolute surrender and consecration unto holiness. Such revival awakens men to the person of God. Such revival is sustained and enabled by the Holy Spirit, not feelings/emotions!

Beloved, as 2016 comes to a close, let’s check our motives in our service in the kingdom of God. Once we get that right, the power of God will break loose in the nations of the earth. Let’s lay treasures in heaven. The LORD help us. Shalom!

Minister Mirella
